East Brunswick’s municipal television station has been filming the town since the 1970s. Its public archive now holds more than 6,000 videos — including 1,855 episodes of This Week in East Brunswick, an exercise show called Look Great, Feel Great!, and silent aerial footage of Route 18 from around 1982. And it is still covering council meetings, high school sports and community events today.

East Brunswick held Town Council candidate forums for decades — at the public library, in the council chambers, on EBTV. The last one was in 2022. There was none during the 2024 municipal election, and none is currently scheduled for the November 2026 council race. The Board of Education’s Meet the Candidates Night, meanwhile, is set for September 30. There is still time to organize something for the council candidates. Why not?

A year ago, with no study in hand, every candidate at a public forum was asked about elementary redistricting. The district has since done the study. Now, in another election, the issue has largely disappeared from the public conversation.

Six varsity teams played twelve contests in six days as fall sports opened in East Brunswick. Field hockey and girls tennis both started 2-0 without conceding a goal or a flight, football rallied from behind to win 36-19, and goalkeeper Caylin Docherty made 18 saves across two girls soccer matches.
