Up to Half a Million for Turf – What’s the Deal?
Eyes on EB received a credible tip suggesting that the story behind the new turf field might be more complicated than it seems. This state-of-the-art field, promised for September, remains mysteriously unused as of November. Meanwhile, our athletes are stuck using the old high school field, watching the new one sit idle without any clear explanation. This has left many in the community asking: what’s the real story here?
Where Is the Accountability?
It’s perplexing that no one in leadership has come forward to explain the delays. With so many involved in this project, it’s reasonable for residents to expect transparency. Why has this project—intended to benefit our athletes and community—stalled with so little information shared? Silence only adds to the frustration, leaving us to wonder if we’re being kept in the dark for a reason.
Where Are VV and Bernie G When We Need Answers?
VV, a community leader who once had the public’s trust, has stayed uncharacteristically quiet on the issue. The lack of response is especially concerning given the importance of this field for our sports programs. Where is VV’s voice now? Why isn’t he seeking answers for the athletes and taxpayers?
And Bernie G, another figure who has championed similar projects in the past, is also nowhere to be found. Their absence from this conversation raises questions about whether they’re avoiding a topic that calls for transparency. If there’s an issue with the field, shouldn’t the community be informed?
Another Costly Mistake: When Will We Learn?
Let’s not forget past issues, like the $85,000 mistake with the logo redesign that ended up costing taxpayers unnecessarily. Due to planning errors, funds that could have been used more effectively were lost. Why do these field-related projects repeatedly stumble, leading to costly mistakes that hit the community’s wallet? When will we finally implement the planning and oversight needed to avoid such blunders?
What Happened to Transparency?
Transparency used to be a standard for local leadership. But in this case, it seems like the community is being left in the dark. The girls’ team has waited years for a proper field, yet now that it’s built, they’re left wondering why it’s off-limits.
This situation is reminiscent of past mistakes, like the high school drawings that weren’t approved, costing taxpayers tens of thousands. The community deserves to know if we’re facing another expensive oversight. In the end, it’s our young athletes who are paying the price, both on the field and off. It’s time for answers.
